Maiorana Upholstery is a family run business which was established by Alessio Maiorana in 1976.
Having worked as an upholsterer in Naples in Italy, Alessio came to England in 1963 and found work at W.G. Undrills in Cambridge. In 1976 he decided to leave to set up his own business.
Maiorana Upholstery grew, and as the work came in, he had to employ more staff. After having 2 workshops in the centre of Cambridge, in 1987 the company moved to its present location, situated in Trumpington, Cambridge.
We specialise in all types of antique and modern furniture, from domestic to contract work and we have been members of The Association Of Master Upholsterers for over 20 years. Whether it be a set of dining chairs, a three piece suite or bespoke furniture, we will meet your requirements that fit your lifestyle.
The domestic side of our business takes in any kind of re upholstery work. We have a strong client base, as the company has been trading for over 35 years, and in this period Alessio prided himself in his work and this has carried on into our staff today.
Contract work is also a large part of the company practice, with a large portion coming from a large customer base including Universities, Colleges, Schools, Hotels, Restaurants, Public Houses and other industrial companies.
Our bespoke work comes from customers wanting new furniture made up, to banks and large offices needing furniture to their own specification. Maiorana Upholstery can today boast a large customer base, to which we give thorough insights into the upholstery trade.
